Do You Know Where Your Children Are?
A small town Sheriff races to keep the peace between the conservative religious community and an increasingly rebellious teenage population after the mysterious disappearance of a local girl.
SYNOPSIS
When a high school girl goes missing in rural farm community Red Creek, local Sheriff Kevin King contends with concerned paranoid parents and frustrated rebellious teenagers as small town tensions boil over at the height of the Satanic Panic. Struggling to enforce a curfew, Sheriff King finds himself in the midst of a media circus as missing Katey Weaver becomes the poster child for a rash of disappearances across the province.
When Katey mysteriously reappears with no memory of the incident, Sheriff King struggles to calm a town on edge as he looks to get to the bottom of the girl's disappearance - and protect her from the religious community that believe the girl is the answer to exposing a nationwide network of Satanists living among them...
AUTHOR'S NOTE: The Satanic Panic hit a curious intersection of religious fanaticism and teenage heavy metal rebellion that I find both very scary but also hilarious. The missing child angle might feel a little Stranger Things, but I'm more interested in exploring the generational divide and how the media we consume can make us distrusting, uncomfortable and paranoid. Also, someone will probably get possessed by the end of it, which is always fun!
