Banshees
A drummer for hire wages a terrifying war for her soul when she's recruited by a band of vampires on a cross-country tour.
SYNOPSIS
Recovering addict Sidney "Sid" McBride moonlights as a rock star, gigging as a drummer-for-hire for metal bands while she takes care of her ailing mother in Seattle. It's there she's invited by mysterious guitarist Anya to join BANSHEES, a local underground all-girl alt rock act on the cusp of breaking big, as they embark on a month long tour to Anchorage, Alaska.
Far from home, the tour proves to be more than she expected when the temptations of the road draw Sidney back into a dark underworld of addiction and violence - and with horrifying nightmares plaguing her and mysterious deaths following them, Sid begins to wonder if the band's dark and twisted nature might prove to be something even more sinister and monstrous than she has previously presumed.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: As a musician, the idea of life on the road might feel like a dream - or, under the right circumstances, a nightmare. I wanted to explore the sacrifices we make in pursuit of our dreams, and use vampirism as an allegory for addiction - all while following the tragic downfall of a recovering addict as she's drawn back into darkness by the punk underground she would do anything to be a part of.
